Leopard Appaloosa
2002
Storm Cloud, or Pokey as we call him around the barn, is a flashy
leopard Appaloosa gelding with great movement. He can be timid,
but he learns quickly. When he came to us, he was not broke
to saddle, and had little "world experience". He was
difficult to catch, halter, flyspray, flymask, etc. But, with
quiet and gentle lessons he has learned quite a bit in
only a few months.
Pokey
now knows vocal commands, how to ground drive and has had his
first few bareback rides. He was calm and accepting of them.
We're currently working on steering at a walk and trot, moving
off the leg, and learning to whoa (his favorite gait!). He will
be introduced to the saddle shortly.
Pokey
would need a gentle adopter
who is willing to finish his training. With a little time, and
his movement, he'd put any lucky adopter in the ribbons!
